This Samsonite 21-inch Lift Spinner is truly a lightweight piece of luggage, as it weighs slightly over 7 pounds.
As the item name implies, this piece features dimensions that will allow its use as carry-on luggage on most airlines.
The length of this case is not actually 21 inches, but 20.5 inches. With its four multi-directional wheels, it is a true spinner piece of luggage.
This Lift Spinner measures 20.5″ x 15″ x 8 inches and weighs 7.3 pounds. While it is not the lightest piece of luggage for this size on the market but is still one of the lightest. It is expandable to 10″. One of the nicer features of a piece of spinner-type luggage is it does not place any weight on your arm when moving it about. Given a reasonably smooth surface, it will move along as far as you can walk with out tiring your arm. The filament polyester fabric exterior is backed with air-expanded polyethylene – aepe. This is a durable piece of luggage. It is correctly advertised as being both lightweight and long lasting. It is available in five colors: black, blue, bright red, navy blue, and red.
- The spinner wheels make navigating much easier when moving about it crowded conditions.
- The four wheels allow the case to move sideways down narrow aisles.
- Samsonite is noted as a manufacturer of durable luggage and this model is no exception.
- Samsonite customer service is excellent.
- Handles and grip areas make the case easy to lift and move. The pull handle is strong and the carry handles are sturdy.
- While it will fit nicely in most overhead bins, it will not fit under the seat in some airplanes.
This expandable, spinner luggage is a high quality item, as you would expect from Samsonite. It is easy to move along and is highly maneuverable. It is said to have a tendency to topple forward but if you take the time to place heavier items towards the bottom that should not be a concern. One of the nicer features is its mobility under cramped and crowded conditions, something that cannot always be said for two-wheeled models.
If there were a concern, it would have to do with carry-on size. It is intended as a carry-on piece of luggage but the wheels are not accounted for in the dimensions given and there is always the possibility if you have to place it in a box to see if it qualifies as carry-on it may or may not do so. It depends upon the box and the airline. In most instances however, this does not seem to be a problem, and in most cases, airlines recognize this as a carry-on piece and do not insist on measuring it. If you have to walk a long ways with this case, it will be more of a pleasure than a problem, as it will not tire your arm. This quality item is a good buy.
